ACRA and the Russian Energy Agency (REA) of the Russian Ministry of Energy have entered into a strategic partnership agreement on developing financial markets in the area of sustainability. The agreement was signed by ACRA CEO Mikhail Sukhov and General Director of the REA Alexey Kulapin during Russian Energy Week.

ACRA and the REA agreed on sharing expert assessments in the areas of energy efficiency and sustainability, popularizing rating services in the Russian market, preparing and publishing joint informational and analytical materials, and holding events. In addition, the agreement provides for putting forward joint initiatives on the creation of legislative and regulatory acts in the field of financial market development.

“The Russian fuel and power industry faces unprecedented challenges from the global energy transition. One of the main tasks in the new reality is the creation of a modern and transparent system for assessing sustainability risks and creating effective green financing infrastructure. The key success factors of projects in this area are quality and availability of information, as well as market participants having a good understanding of the relevant processes and mechanisms. By working together, ACRA and the REA will help improve the quality of data, make Russian companies more appealing to investors, and promote best practices,” said Mr. Sukhov.
